Infrastructure supports for providers

The Office for Early Childhood Development (OECD) is committed to helping applicants through the grant application and project delivery process.

As outlined in the Preschool Infrastructure Strategy, supports will be available to navigate end-to-end infrastructure processes. This will include written resources and templates, available in late February 2025, and Guidance Services, by referral.

Guidance Pack

To assist the sector, a comprehensive Guidance Pack will be made available here in late February 2025.

This pack will provide an overview of the process for planning, applying for a grant and delivering an infrastructure project, together with useful templates.

The Guidance Pack is a useful source of introductory material to help applicants undertake early childhood service infrastructure projects.

Guidance Services

Applicants with limited infrastructure experience and resourcing can indicate they require assistance and request they be considered for referral to Guidance Services.

Provided by the OECD’s Sector Supports Partner, Guidance Services will include coaching and advice for applicants to navigate each stage of the process.

The services will be optional and provided free of charge to those eligible for referral.

Applicants must:

  • be eligible for a Flying Start Infrastructure Grant
  • be proposing a new or expanded facility creating new preschool capacity in an area of unmet demand for preschool
  • have limited infrastructure experience and resourcing (like no dedicated infrastructure resourcing).
