You’re already making a meaningful difference! Create extra impact with these tools
If you’re interested in continuing to build your professional expertise, and enhancing your ability to make an impact at a critical time children’s lives, then this is the place to find resources to help.
A range of support tools will soon be available for teachers and educators to grow their capability and service quality, through professional learning and career resources. This includes the following:
- Preschool toolkit and professional learning opportunities. Become better prepared to create engaging, developmentally appropriate, and culturally responsive programs, for 3-and-4 year-old preschool children. Access evidence-informed resources to strengthen understanding and confidence in teaching and learning across 5 developmental domains (social, emotional, language, cognitive and physical).
- Mentoring for early career teachers. Support transition from provisional to full registration with the Teacher’s Registration Board of South Australia, with mentoring.
- Coaching. Coaching for early childhood teachers and educators re-entering the workforce.
- Professional learning in coaching and mentoring for experienced teachers. Enhance knowledge and skills through professional learning in coaching and mentoring to support early career teachers.
- Leadership development opportunities for aspiring or experienced leaders. Access these opportunities if you want to strengthen your leadership capability, capacity, and practice.
- Professional networks for teachers, leaders, and allied health professionals. Share perspectives, collaborate, learn, and critically reflect on teaching and practice to improve the developmental, health and wellbeing outcomes for children. Networking events will be held across the state throughout 2025 to help early childhood professionals get ready to deliver 3-year-old preschool.

Do you run an early childhood education service?
If you run a service, you may find the following resources helpful in supporting your staff to upskill or engage in professional development.
For centres supporting staff to upskill from a certificate III to a diploma, financial support of $1000 is available to offset costs such as backfilling during the educator’s placement.
The following subsidies to support professional development are available through the Australian Government:
- the professional development subsidy helps qualified staff complete training to enhance their skills
- the paid practicum subsidy helps early childhood teachers and educators in training complete practicums.
